After 15 hours of public comment at City Council on June 5th and 6th, the motion to provide an unknown amount of public funds — around $60,000,000 — was approved. The pressure to build Cop City is too immense from industrial and bureaucratic forces in higher levels of government for the City Council to resist.
The period of deliberating with the authorities will hopefully recede once again, and the movement will revert to more direct means of obstructing the project.
The City Council should face the consequences of their actions beyond and prior to the next vote.
Toward that end, that others may reach out to these people where they live, where they rest, where they eat, we are publishing their addresses. We are withholding the addresses of the Councilmembers who voted “No.” We are also publishing the address of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
Once again, all of this information was obtained freely and legally. It is out there.
See you all June 24 – July 1.
Make them tremble.
